The Greater Milford Area Bar Association, known simply as “the Milford Bar Association” until 2016, has served to promote collegiality and community engagement throughout the greater Milford, Massachusetts community for over 40 years. Our association includes attorneys in both the private and public sector from Milford and surrounding towns and cities in southeastern Worcester County, southwestern Middlesex County and southwestern Norfolk County.
Mission Statement:
The Greater Milford Area Bar Association aims to maintain the honor of the profession, to promote the administration of justice, to promote the study and appreciation of law, jurisprudence and civics, to foster the cooperation between members of the bar and other civic organizations, and to promote cooperation and good fellowship among members of the local bar.
Organization Information:
Our Association holds four regular meetings each year as well as additional philanthropic, social, and professional events.
The Association also hosts an annual barbecue for the judges and staff of area courthouses in September of each year.
In the 2017 term, the Association hosted a book signing event with local author and attorney Dan Doyle, as well as a presentation on legal ethics by the Assistant General Counsel of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers. We finished our year with an annual holiday party at The Alamo of Milford.
In the past, the Association has hosted speakers ranging from Stephanie Fattman, the Registrar of Probate for Worcester County, to Hon. Gerald A. Lemire, Associate Justice of the Uxbridge District Court, to Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis, just to name a few. Our social events provide an opportunity for our members to socialize and refer cases.
